As per Merriam-Webster Dictionary,
"Burnout: exhaustion of physical or emotional strength or motivation usually as a result of prolonged stress or frustration."
For those in the corporate world, this word slowly becomes part of life.

During my work years, I felt it almost every day. That lack of energy to walk, to travel for leisure, to cycle, or to do even a simple morning exercise was all burnout.
But burnout doesn’t just drain your body. It quietly seeps into your personal life too.

I often avoided small decisions:
-What to eat
-What to watch on TV
-Which restaurant to go to with family
-Which city or country to travel
-Even which hotel to stay in

One weekend, my family had planned to visit a newly opened restaurant. My 8-year-old daughter was super excited to go out with her mummy-papa. I wanted to share that happiness — but instead, I chose to stay at home, too exhausted to step out. Of course, they never complained, they understood I needed rest. But deep down, I knew — this wasn’t me. It was the gift of my work-induced burnout.

The WHO describes burnout as an “occupational phenomenon” — a syndrome resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed.
It is marked by three dimensions:
*Feelings of energy depletion or exhaustion
*Increased mental distance from one’s job, or feelings of negativism/cynicism
*Reduced professional efficacy

My friend, if you ever feel burnout, please remember — it’s not you becoming less productive. It’s the stress and work demands crippling your decision-making ability.
👉 Share your feelings with someone you trust.
👉 Talk to a friend. Travel. Spend time in nature.
👉 And most importantly — take a step back, introspect, maybe even take a sabbatical and restart your life.

Because this system won’t change for you. It’s designed to extract the maximum.
But you can choose to change your path.
It’s never too late to reclaim your energy.
