That was me, one Friday evening. I was with my family, finally relaxed after a long week.

At 8:30 pm, my phone rang.
It was my Chief Manager.

I was “instructed” to open the branch over the weekend and visit defaulting borrowers. No urgency. No quarter closing. No emergency. Just because the boss felt like it.

And I did it because that’s what I always did.
I picked up every call.
I said “yes” to every demand.
Being available 24/7 was the right thing to do.

Years later, I realise how wrong I was.

For outsiders, it looked perfect: good salary, sarkari naukri, stability, respect.
But inside, I was constantly sacrificing myself for an illusion of security.

Here’s the truth I wish I had realised earlier:
👉 There is always a choice. Even if the alternatives don’t look equal.
You chose the job. You signed the dotted line.
And you can choose again.

Today, I’ve decided to live life true to myself — not by society’s expectations, but by what feels right for me.
It’s not a “tough call”. It’s just a call.

If you ever feel stuck, remember: you’re not. You’re choosing to stay.
And if you want to talk, my inbox is open.

I’ll keep sharing more reflections from my journey — follow along if this resonates.

And tell me in the comments — have you ever said “yes” when you really wanted to say “no”?
